Harvest Thanksgivings 2010 –

Cahir Harvest Thanksgiving was followed on the following Sunday by that in Tullaghmeelan. Some of the flowers & foliage came from Cahir; a sign of the increasing co-operating within our union of parishes. The Ven Michael Nuttall preached and got us to ocncentrate on our role in creation. As usual we all enjoyed refreshments in Knocklofty House Hotel.

Unfortunately our preacher for the service in Holy Trinity, Fethard had a family bereavement in the days before and the Rector stepped into the breach – something to do with bread. Once again there was co-operation between our congregations with some flowers from Tullaghmeelan finding their way to Fethard and with a goodly number of Clonmel parishioners present. Thank-you ladies for the refreshments afterwards.

The service in Old St. Mary’s, Clonmel, took the form of a “Songs of Praise”. It was very well attended with clergy & religious from the other parishes attending; as they did in Cahir & Fethard. Canon Patrick Harvey enthralled us with tales of the sea and our place in God’s creation. A special thank-you to David who played the organ at three of the services and to Pierce who played in Clonmel.
Thank-you to all the decorators & those who cleaned brass etc and provided refreshments after service.
