School Play –

Family and friends enjoyed the school concert in the GAA Hall, Western Road on 9th December. The senior room presented “The Spider’s Web” a play based on an old story about the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt, by Dean Beare. And the Junior room presented “The Three Bears”, a musical. Santa Claus visited to give each child a present. Well done, children!
The children have begun their activities towards attaining their second green flag for “energy.”

Seven of us enjoyed the fun of Panto on 25th October in Carrick-on-Suir.

St Mary’s will be presenting “The Pirates of Penzance in the White Memorial Theatre, Clonmel in November – maybe we can get a group together on the Sunday night.

Fourteen parishioners enjoyed a superb production of “Godspell” by Stagecraft – a Youth theatre group in Clonmel on 17th May.

Sunday, 17th May 2008 – “Godspell” – a musical based on St. Matthew’s gospel – The setting is a junk yard in New York, the music is very good and the possibilities for production are mind-boggling. I helped produce this show in the 1980s and look forward to seeing somebody else’ take on it. It was arranged at very short notice and a small group of parishioners will attend Carrick-on-Suir’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof” on 1st March – watch out for St. Mary’s, Clonmel production in the coming weeks, Ring the Rector when you see the notices and we’ll arrange another outing – All welcome!

Night out at the Theatre

Twenty parishioners had a night out at the theatre on 30th November. St. Mary’s Choral Society production of “Into the West” was most enjoyable. We look forward to doing this again in the Spring.
