ordained priest 30th May in Waterford Cathedral – The Bishop will ordain Alex Purser, Carlow Group of Parishes deacon on 20th June in Abbeyleix to serve in that parish. Please pray for all of them and for Jim &Brendan, from our diocese,who are at present studying in our Theological Institut

Ordinations –

Ivan Dungan & Christine Smyth will be ordained Deacon in Waterford Cathedral on Monday, 8th June. Both will serve in the Non-Stipendiary Ministry. Our diocese is one of the few which has students in the Theological Institute constantly. It is very encouraging that have people doing the Foundation Course and in the Fellowship of Vocations and others investigating whether they have a vocation to ministry at the moment.

Burial –

Thomas Ryall, a native of this parish, died in Waterford on 28th February. His
Funeral Service took place in Waterford Cathedral on 2nd March and he was buried in the family plot at Newchapel on the 6th March. To his family and friends, we offer our sincere sympathy. May he rest in peace.

Blessing

The Rector joined with Fr. Meehan to bless the new vehicle, which is part of a
fleet of minibuses which transport people to Waterford for their radium
treatment. This relieves friends and relatives from the onerous and time-consuming business of travelling up and down to Waterford five days per weeks for the duration of patients’ treatment. This wonderful facility is due to the generosity and dedication of a dedicated group.
