School Play –
Family and friends enjoyed the school concert in the GAA Hall, Western Road on 9th December. The senior room presented “The Spider’s Web” a play based on an old story about the Holy Family’s flight into Egypt, by Dean Beare. And the Junior room presented “The Three Bears”, a musical. Santa Claus visited to give each child a present. Well done, children!
The children have begun their activities towards attaining their second green flag for “energy.”

Messiah –
The performance of Handel’s most famous oratorio in St. Mary’s, Irishtown on the 12th December was as good as you can get. The Limerick Choral union did themselves proud!
Bible Study –
The attendance was small, but the discussion and study of the Three Nativity Narratives in Matthew and Luke’s gospels was lively and most instructive. Three stories, you ask? Yes! Next time round, do come and join us as we explore Holy Scripture!
Carol Services –
St. Mary’s Church Choir, Jane Kennedy, led the singing in Marlfield on 8th December. The local people had decorated the church for the occasion.
The Carol Service in St. Paul’s, Cahir, on the 13th December was well attended. Cahir Choral Society led the singing in a beautifully decorated church. Refreshments were served in the Butler/Charteris Hall afterwards.
The Carol Service in Old St. Mary's Clonmel was well attended. The Mayor, Deputy Chairman of the County Council and Councillors attended. The Christmas tree, this year, is placed at the front of the church. Thank-you, John, for donating it! The children presented two of the readings and took up the collection.
The Service of Nine Lessons and Carols in Holy Trinity Fethard took place on 20th December. The new chandeliers certainly give us much more light! There was a good congregation and refreshments were served by the ladies afterwards.
